2009 Maresh Pinot Noir

Maresh Vineyard has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than thirty years. It was originally planted by Jim Maresh in the Dundee Hills on lava soil. Last year, the Wine Spectator said of our 2008 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard: “Firm in texture, with crisp tannins around a light, fragrant core of currant, red berry and wet gravel aromas and flavors. Finishes on a peppery note, lingering nicely (90).” We have been sold out of it for months, so we are excited to release the 2009.

Dad: Balanced and elegant nose with a long minerally finish. Yummy, technically speaking.

Fille: If this year’s Maresh were an era of painting, it would be Impressionism- soft, lovely, natural, balanced, and prettier the closer you get to it. Its light garnet color gives way to a palate of plum and cherry with spice and oregano accents. It has a lovely finish and would pair well with salmon, pork, and wild mushroom risotto.
