My dad was so excited when he found newly planted Fairsing Vineyard, owned by Mike and Mary Ann McNally, in 2009. Over time, he grew even more passionate about the vineyard’s beautiful vistas and the complexity of our block of Wädenswil at the top of the site. Club Members have seen this vineyard pop up in Dad’s Cuvee and Heredity Pinot Noir, but this is our first release ever of single vineyard Fairsing Vineyard Pinot Noir. Note that we produced less than 100 cases.

Dad: Raspberry, cherry pie, strawberry, red currant, with bit of pipe tobacco, milk chocolate, and orange peel.

Fille: This wine has a sexy allure, but displays a delicate elegance (think Charlize Theron). The complex nose has layers that unfold over a meal, while the round and refined palate carries into a long finish. This calls for pork tenderloin with cherry compote.

Appellation: Yamhill-Carlton District

Harvest: September 21, 2014

Barrel aging: 11 months, 25% new

Alcohol, by volume: 14.1%

Production: 97 cases
