Et Fille 2014 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir
We have been making wine from Kalita Vineyard since 2004, and the fruit keeps getting more complex and rich each year. Kalita Vineyard, owned by Arthur and Sherry Kalita, is a beautiful bowl-shaped vineyard ranging between 400-800’ elevation located in the Yamhill-Carlton district of Oregon. This received a 91 from Wine Spectator, which called it a "spirited yet refined Pinot, with rose petal and dark raspberry aromas, and structured, polished red plum and orange peel flavors that gain traction toward lively tannins.
Dad: Dark cherry, cola, cedar, and nutmeg aroma. Plum, cherry cola, and almond on long finish with firm tannins.
Fille: This wine evolves with complexity as it is open. It reminds me of Leonardo DiCaprio- immediately attractive and captivating, but displays range and depth over time. This would pair well with a savory herb grilled rack of lamb and can be enjoyed now or cellared for 5-7 years.
