Et Fille 2013 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir
We love working with Maresh Vineyard. The earthiness and minerality create a distinctive softness and complexity. It generally matures nicely over time and we expect the 2013 vintage to age beautifully. Last year, Stephen Tanzer rated a prior vintage a 92. Maresh Vineyard has produced legendary Pinot Noir for more than forty years after being planted by Jim Maresh in the Dundee Hills on lava soil.
Dad: Cherry jam on fresh baked bread. Mushroom, saline and savory. Smooth and long finish. Wow.
Fille: This wine reminds me of Penelope Cruz- sexy, voluptuous, and commands your attention. The smooth mouthfeel is round and complex. The cherry flavor is accented by earthy and savory characteristics and a touch of sandalwood. It would pair beautifully with pork tenderloin and mushroom risotto.
