Et Fille 2013 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir
We have been making wine from Kalita Vineyard since 2004, and the fruit keeps getting more complex and rich each year. Kalita Vineyard, owned by Arthur and Sherry Kalita, is a beautiful bowl-shaped vineyard ranging between 400-800’ elevation located in the Yamhill-Carlton district of Oregon. The prior vintage was rated a 92 by Vinous and won a Gold at both the Oregon Wine Awards and San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Dad: Black cherry, plum, vanilla. Gentle tannins roll out the long finish.
Fille: This is a more serious, age worthy, and food focused Kalita Vineyard than in many years. It reminds me of Emma Thompson- restrained, but with increasing complexity over the years. Its aroma of vanilla custard, butterscotch, and floral notes are followed by a balanced palate and long finish accented by tobacco and spice. We recently enjoyed this with savory herb roasted pork chops.
